Stuart Atkinson, P.Eng.

President and Founder

Stuart has a Bachelor of Engineering Science degree from The University of Western Ontario, and is a licensed Ontario Professional Engineer. He has a strong business background in corporate information systems. Experience in custom programming in Geotechnical engineering in the fields of construction and mining as a professional engineering consultant, since 1992. Founded Atkinson Computer Developments in 2001, in development of his corporate computer systems consulting since 1997. Further developed a collection of Information Technology specialists, called IT Pilots, to outsource corporate information systems, that exceeds the expectations of our clients. Stuart is also a Boeing 777 pilot at Air Canada. Stuart’s aviation experience since the age of 16, and engineering computer science background, have created a unique skill in computer system logistics for companies in Aerospace and Engineering. Stuart provided computer consulting since the age of 14 to his father’s law firm.

Josh Lipman

Operations Manager

Josh is our operations manager. He is the team leader, that keeps IT Pilots accountable to our customers, and all the parts working together. Josh has been with IT Pilots since 2010. With a well-developed sense of end-user experience, his personal goal is to implement technology solutions that cut operating costs, create room for growth by leveraging new capabilities, and at the same time deliver a satisfying overall experience to both the business and its clients. Josh graduated from the Computer Networking and Technical Support program at Seneca College.

Mitch Newman

Senior Security Consultant

Having a CISSP certification and with over 10 years of experience in the field, Mitch has the skills and expertise necessary to meet your technical needs. Since joining the IT Pilots team in 2017 as the Senior Security Consultant, Mitch has increased our efficiency with upgrades to centralized services, resulting in an enhanced customer experience and increased security. Mitch continues to be a creative problem-solver who is determined to deliver excellent customer service. Outside of work, for 6 + years, Mitch is a volunteer member of the Para Marine Search and Rescue organization. He also enjoys road trips, hiking, exploring new places and trying new foods.

Nik Pentchev

Senior IT Analyst, Network Infrastructure

Nik is a graduate of the Computer Systems Analyst program at George Brown College. Nik has worked in the IT industry since 2005, but his experience troubleshooting computers dates back even further. He has extensive experience designing and implementing both wired and wireless network topologies. Highly skilled in hardware support and maintenance, he is a go to for time sensitive projects and issues requiring critical problem solving. Outside of work, Nik is passionate about history, mechanics, cooking and you may even catch him kicking around a soccer ball with his two children.

Greg McCarthy

Senior IT Analyst

Having graduated from Seneca College in Computer Systems Technology, Greg has been with IT Pilots since 2010. In his role as Senior Analyst, Greg serves as a technical expert within his field of assignment, providing guidance and direction to other professionals and customers. His analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with his attention to detail, make him the go-to guy when it comes to getting things done. No matter what issue you are having, Greg is always happy to help and won’t give up until it’s resolved. Aside from work, Greg enjoys spending time with his partner and son. You might even find him exploring new foods and recipes, playing hockey or a video game with his friends.

Adam Chan

Senior Information Systems Consultant

Adam attended Seneca College and TriOS college to finalize his education in Computer Systems Technology and Networking Administration, but his passion for technology sprouted from a young age. Entering the field in 2008 as a Student Technology Assistant at York University, Adam placed his focus on learning and researching how individuals interact with technology, and developing strategies that allow tech to work for customers as opposed to against them. Adam is a determined individual and is committed to helping solve any problems that you may encounter. Outside of work, Adam volunteers with Oakville Marine Search and Rescue, the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary, and enjoys archery, gaming, and cycling on as many surfaces as possible.

Thomas Shingler

IT Analyst

While studying at Georgian College, Thomas completed his Diploma in Computer Systems Networking (CSTN) and continued his studies to attain a Postgraduate Diploma in Information Systems Security (INSS), both with honours.  He joined IT Pilots for his final work term, and it was a great fit leading to his first official IT related role, serving as an IT Analyst.  Thomas is always learning new things and expanding his already impressive knowledge of the Canadian IT industry by tinkering with computers and new technology. Thomas also has a passion for aircraft simulation, so you may find him in his very own personal cockpit when not helping our growing client base.
